AGT Story

BETTER GOLF THROUGH BETTER BALANCE

Curt Carbaugh obtained his Kinesiology/Biomechanics degree from the University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire in 1996 and moved to Minneapolis for his internship with Acceleration Minnesota Sports Training Center.  Curt loved the game of golf but was self taught and sliced the ball like most self taught players.  He got a part-time job at Island Lake Golf and Training Center in Shoreview, Minnesota so he could hit free range balls and work on his game.  Jason Erickson was the head golf pro at Island Lake and the two of them became close friends and developed what is now ACTIVE GOLF TRAINING (AGT).

Taking Curt's knowledge from 10 years of training athletes at Acceleration and Jason's 20 plus years of golf instruction, the two of them developed this state of the art teaching system.  Curt grooved an on-plane body swing and dropped his handicap from 19 to 1 in 3 years.  The AGT system helped Curt pass the very difficult PGA Players Ability Test which is passed by less than 1/3 of all participants.  These results can be seen if the student is disciplined enough to practice the right drills, work on the short game and regularly play.

Jason and Curt opened a permanent indoor facility next to the Acceleration North Training facility in Arden Hills in 2006.  In 2008, a second site was opened at the Links at NorthFork.  In the fall of 2007, Jason and Curt restructured the company and Jim Hartman, former executive with Enpath Medical, Inc. was brought aboard as the President. Jason Erickson resigned at Island lake to take a full time position with AGT, becoming the vice president of golf operations.

Curt is currently a consultant to the Company on golf fitness and a member of the Board of Directors.

In January 2008, George Shortridge, pre-eminent Minnesota Golfer and former PGA tour player joined AGT as Vice-President of Business Development.

Other Board members besides Jason, Curt and Jim Hartman, are Donn Berkeland, Regional Executive with Novacare and Todd Hartman, attorney and member of the General Counsel's office of Best Buy.

It is the Company's plan to expand to additional locations either through franchising or opening Company-owned Centers.
