ACTIVE GOLF TRAINING - ELITE SUMMER GOLF CAMP DETAILS
This is an opportunity for young aspiring golfers to spend two weeks learning the fine points of the game of golf from
some of Minnesota’s top instructors. The program is designed for the high school golfer who is committed to competing
at the college or even higher level. Only eight players per Camp will be chosen to give each golfer the maximum
amount of individual instruction.
George Shortridge brings years of experience and wisdom to the game of golf. He has won the Minnesota State Open
three times, played on the professional PGA Tour for several years, and has provided instruction to many of the top players
in the state.
Jason Erickson has been teaching golf for over twenty years and is the co-founder of Active Golf Training, a leading
player development center and training school for over 100 aspiring high school and junior high golfers this past winter season.
During the 2007 spring golf season, eighteen state tournament participants trained at Active Golf Training.
Curt Carbaugh, co-founder of Active Golf Training, is the owner of Acceleration North Sports Training facility and has
been working with athletes on training regimens for over ten years. He has a degree in Kinesiology and Biomechanics and is
also a top amateur golfer.
This Camp is designed to bring your golf game to a new level. We will be learning to shape shots, control trajectory,
and to think our way around the golf course both dependent on the situation of the tournament and the situation of your individual
round. Emphasis will be on long term overall development and learning how to go low. We will work extensively on NorthFork’s
three-hole practice loop developing confidence in dealing with real world challenging situations. We will strive to
develop a long term strategy for future improvement including a rock solid practice and conditioning routine that will keep
your body and your game in top competitive shape.
We intend to play 2-3 rounds of golf at courses other than NorthFork to give each golfer the widest possible experience
in confronting a variety of challenging situations. It is possible that we may play courses outside the Twin Cities
area which could result in an out of town overnight.
Successful candidates will complete an application as well
as write a paragraph explaining why they would like to join the camp and then schedule an interview to assure expectations
will be met by both sides. Applications should be submitted by May 15 and final selections will be made by
May 25.
